Meet the Board Members

Jim Huntzinger has been involved in engineering and manufacturing for his entire career. He also owned and operated Lean Frontiers, which provides conferences, online learning, and extensive workshops for manufacturing and business.

Jim has researched and written on the evolution of manufacturing in the U.S. and its methods and development. He also has extensively researched American history and economics. He received an undergraduate degree from Purdue University and a graduate degree from Milwaukee School of Engineering.

Gary Reynolds is a retired business owner. He is a member of Fishers United Methodist Church. Gary has four children, eleven grand children and fifteen great grand children. He enjoys going back to his former business every morning and being a nuisance.

Bill is a former engineering group manager who worked at Delphi Electronics and Safety in Kokomo, Indiana, USA, for 34 years. He holds BS and MS degrees in electrical engineering. Bill spent 15 years in factory automation systems and electronics manufacturing. He worked in various management and business development positions for an additional 19 years. In his last position before leaving Delphi in August 2010, he developed advanced safety products for cars.

From 2010 to 2014, Bill and his wife Cassie lived and worked at Kafakumba in Zambia. Bill's primary responsibilities were to manage the Kafakumba woodshop, administer the finances for the Kafakumba Training Center, and manage construction at the Center. Bill and Cassie started the English church that meets at the Center. In addition, Bill and Cassie taught at the Kafakumba Pastors' School and Cassie worked in womens' ministries such as Bible studies and teaching sewing.

After returning from Kafakumba, Bill worked at Taylor University in Upland, Indiana, teaching in the engineering and computer science departments. He retired in 2019.

Kathy Riggs is a graduate of the Purdue University School of Nursing in West Lafayette, Indiana. She worked for 25 years as a registered nurse in obstetrics and pediatrics. Kathy has been familiar with the work at Kafakumba since her high school days through her home church in Swayzee, Indiana. She currently leads a women's Bible Study.

Ben Orebaugh grew up on a grain and livestock farm in East Central Indiana. After graduating from Purdue University with a degree in Agronomy/Plant Genetics he started his career with Becks Hybrids. While in his 14th year at Becks Hybrids as a corn breeder, Ben felt a strong calling by the Almighty to do agriculture mission work in Rwanda Africa. After a couple seasons (one and half years) in Rwanda a door opened to move to Uganda to help build a breeding and testing program in corn and sorghum for a privately owned Ugandan seed company called NASECO Seeds. After a hard but encouraging and successful three and half years in Uganda, Ben returned home to Indiana where he has returned to his old employer, Becks Hybrids.

Ben currently works for Becks Hybrids as a Trait Introgression Breeder. Residing in Noblesville, he also enjoys helping on the family farm located close to Muncie, IN. Additionally, Ben enjoys serving his church in a deacon role and also spending time with family, especially several of his nieces and nephews.

Deborah Winger is a retired registered nurse. She is married to Steve Winger and together they have eight children, 19 grandchildren, and two new twin great granddaughters.

Deborah’s in-laws, Don and Judy Winger, supported Kafakumba and Pastors' School for almost 40 years. They both visited Kafakumba in Zambia and in Congo. Deborah’s mother-in-law Judy will be 100 this year. Her number one passion is Kafakumba and Pastors' School and she is the one that sparked this interest in Deborah.

Deborah had the wonderful opportunity in June 2024 to visit Kafakumba with 8 other family members. Pastors' School in Zambia was going on at that time and it was an unforgettable experience. She encourages everyone to go if they get the opportunity and describes Kafakumba as the closest thing to heaven on earth that she’s ever experienced. 

When she’s not chasing farmers and grandchildren, she enjoys leading the children’s program in Bible Study Fellowship and traveling.

Nathan Steury was born and raised on the mission field in Kenya. He met Elinda (Enright) at boarding school in Kenya while her parents (the founders of the Pastors’ School) were serving in DR Congo. 

Nathan is an ordained pastor and Certified Public Accountant. He pastored in Florida for 20 years while co-parenting their 4 children.

Nathan and Elinda moved to Zambia in 2013 to serve at Kafakumba Transformational Outreach. Nathan’s current roles are Pastor, Discipler, Transforming Ministries, Treasurer, Administrator, Chief Financial Officer, Father and Grandfather. Elinda serves as the Health Administrator of the Clinic at Kafakumba.
