Bill is a former engineering group manager who worked at Delphi Electronics and Safety in Kokomo, Indiana, USA, for 34 years. He holds BS and MS degrees in electrical engineering. Bill spent 15 years in factory automation systems and electronics manufacturing. He worked in various management and business development positions for an additional 19 years. In his last position before leaving Delphi in August 2010, he developed advanced safety products for cars.

From 2010 to 2014, Bill and his wife Cassie lived and worked at Kafakumba in Zambia. Bill's primary responsibilities were to manage the Kafakumba woodshop, administer the finances for the Kafakumba Training Center, and manage construction at the Center. Bill and Cassie started the English church that meets at the Center. In addition, Bill and Cassie taught at the Kafakumba Pastors' School and Cassie worked in womens' ministries such as Bible studies and teaching sewing.

After returning from Kafakumba, Bill worked at Taylor University in Upland, Indiana, teaching in the engineering and computer science departments. He retired in 2019
